Hudson River pilot to throw out first pitch on Saturday

Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, the pilot who safely landed a plane in the Hudson River, will throw out the first pitch on Saturday, according to this press release via Peter Abraham.

The New York Yankees today announced that Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, the pilot of Flight 1549 who successfully landed the impaired plane safely on New York’s Hudson River in January, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the start of the Yankees’ 1:05 p.m. exhibition game vs. the Chicago Cubs on Saturday, April 4.

The Yankees will honor “Sully” (a Yankees fan since boyhood) as well as Flight 1549 co-pilot Jeff Skiles and flight-crew member Doreen Welsh in a pregame ceremony.

In addition, the Yankees will welcome Challenger, the renowned American Bald Eagle, who will fly across Yankee Stadium from the top of the Bleachers CafĂ© to the pitcher’s mound at the conclusion of the national anthem.
And I get to see him!

Will anyone else be there on Saturday?

I am going tomorrow; if the weather holds up. I am very happy that the Yankees are honoring a hero, especially since he is a Yankee fan.

I'm going to that game. Section 239. Nice find with this one, the guy really is a hero. Did ya see the interview he did with 60 min? Great stuff.

No, I didn't see the interview.

Yikes, 239? Look at what I just posted. That is Section 239. We all knew about the obstruction, but the TVs the team has been bragging out don't seem to be solving anything.
